U.E.’s Bang Bang Shrimp Sauce
Reminiscent of a “bang bang shrimp sauce” this sweet and tangy sauce with an Asian twist is sure to be a hit! Spicy heat adjustable to your pallet
Servings: 4 people
- 2 tsp Sambal Oelek chili sauce
- 1 tsp Sonoran Spice Birds Eye Chili Powder adjustable to spicy heat preference. You can also use any type of hot pepper powder you prefer.
- 1 5.4 oz can coconut creme
- 1 tsp raw honey
- Mix coconut creme and honey in a deep bowl. Microwave on high for 10-15 seconds just to soften. Mix in chili sauce and chili powder. Reheat to desired temp. The warmer it is, the more saucy it is. The warmer sauce is good for coating fried or grilled shrimp. For a thicker sauce, chill for at least an hour. This is great for cocktail shrimp dipping.
For our fried shrimp, we found it best to use about 1/4 cup of cornstarch for 1 bag of Colossal Shrimp (15-20 pcs). This cornstarch coating allows the sauce to pop, but gives the shrimp a light crispy coating.
